To celebrate getting 200 likes on facebook, and also this lovely delivery coming to my house yesterday, I am doing a GIVEAWAY on my blog!
(Sorry for the rubbish photo – I think I had put peanut butter or something on the lens of my phone camera).
The prize will be a signed copy of A Witch in Love (not yet in the shops) AND a signed copy of A Witch in Winter (bad luck if you already have A Witch in Winter. You’ll just have to give the new one to charity or something).
Anyhoo, all you have to do to enter is comment below telling me your favourite fictional witch or wizard – can be books, films, tv, songs… er [racks brains for alternative sources of fictional witches].
Then I will apply my exceedingly technical random comment selection process (ie, I will write down all the names and pull one out of a hat).
Of course if you want to like my facebook page that will earn you love, brownie points and possibly good karma, but you don’t have to.
The contest will close Friday 22nd June at 9pm (UK time) and I will email the winner that weekend. Good luck

Perhaps because I won a school fancy dress prize (my one and only) for going as her in a cardboard box and black tights.

I’m going to have to go with Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I used to watch the show all the time and always wanted to live in that lovely house, have those cool powers, have a talking cat and two wacky aunts.
it would have to be your book a witch in winter i was glued to it and i cannot wait for a witch in love to come out to see what happens.
For me it would have the be Merlin. Merlin actually has to learn and try to get better.
He isn’t instantly better.
He’s working on a new spell for hours on end before he gets it right.

to be perfectly honest i don’t have one favorite many will say harry potter or Hermione Granger, Ron weasly and Anna etc my favorite is an older on i love the hocus pocus witches they are fantastic just the horrid and cruel thing they did really got you engrossed but my ultimate favorite was sabrina the teenage witch she was unbelievable having to deal with being a witch aswell as school college and being a girl.

My favorite witch is… Anna Winterson no suprise really! Well I am not kissing up but that is in my top three fantasy books including: A Witch In Winter, Harry Potter and The Worst Witch. I found these books original with ideas and a great read.
Someday I wish of becoming a writer, all thanks to you and my other favorite authers never stop writin the books that is the message I give you.

Thanks for the giveaway. You may have not heard of this but my favorite witch is Persephone Leland or Persy as she’s called from Bewitching Season by Marissa Doyle book 1 of the Leland Sisters series. She is so nice and smart and such a strong female lead character.
Making us choose our favourite witch or wizard is cruel. I’ve been sitting here wanting to be un-original and choose Luna because I love her flare and originality. Then I thought Mildred Hubble because I loved the tv series when I was growing up, the same for Sabrina the Teenage Witch. But asking today I would have to say Mia from Gabriella Lepore’s ‘witches in the glass castle’. Her strength and stubborness just made me fall for her. If I could be half as good as her, i’d be happy!

My favourite witch would have to be Cate Cahill from the book Born Wicked. She’s just awesome and powerful and always tries to do what is right for her sisters.
Much as I adore the Harry Potter characters, I’m going to be different and say Paige Matthews from the TV show Charmed. She was always so kooky and individual, and she reacted how most people would to finding out she was a witch.

Well sadly i don’t read many witch/wizards books except harry potter and a witch in winter soooo it would have to be either Hermionie Granger or Anna Winterson because i really like their different personalitys. I really like that anna learns how to use her magic as she goes and having the forces against her i can’t wait to see what happens next… xxx

My favourite witch is Winnie the Witch. It was written by Valerie Thomas and illustrated by Korky Paul. It is a children’s book but used to make me laugh so much! Was so excited when I found out you were giving away signed copies of A Witch In Love! Got my fingers crossed that I’ll be the name that is pulled out of that hat!

My favorite fictional witch… that’s a tough one, but I’ll say Deborah from L.J. Smith’s Secret Circle trilogy (I’m glad she didn’t exist in the TV series, especially since they destroyed Nick’s character in it) since she’s my first favorite fictional witch.

my favourite witch is case blake ( seceret circle ) she is my favourite witch because, i have never thought being a witch dont be so scary, she puts it into real life situation and also i just love her acting and i just wanna be her soo badly she pretty and nice , shes an awsome witch with the spells and potions . I loved The Worst Witch too, but found it quite upsetting the way things always went wrong for poor Mildred, even when she was trying really hard. I almost couldn’t carry on reading to the part where it came right in the end!

If I had to choose just one, I will say Hermonie. A bit of a standard answer, but I love her! She’s smart (and isn’t ashamed of it) yet she has a kind heart.
